Final Stretch on Peace Talks | Latin American Herald Tribune

Representatives of Colombia’s government and the FARC rebel group will resume peace talks on January 13, and they will remain in “permanent session” until a final agreement is reached according to President Santos.

The negotiations have already concluded agreements on land reform, political participation, drugs and drug crop, and victims’ reparations, nevertheless the last point on the agenda concerns the mechanics of implementing a permanent bilateral cease-fire and the demobilization of the FARC.

Negotiators are expected to address security arrangements in the areas designated for FARC fighters to gather in preparation for laying down their arms.
