This Day in History Tupac Amaru II was executed

Mr. Gabriel Condorcanqui better known as Tupac Amaru II, descendant of the last Inca ruler -Tupac Amaru- led the Peruvian peasants in one of the most important rebellion against Spanish rule and proclaimed the abolition of slavery.

The revolt, which spread throughout southern Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. Túpac Amaru II and his family were captured in March 1781 and taken to Cuzco. After being forced to witness the execution of his wife and sons, he was mutilated, drawn and quartered, and beheaded this day in history but in 1781.
